In another album, you can see the results of John moving the Mainsheet traveler to a new location to free up the companionway. After the first modification it was apparent the CB position needed to be changed to a more comfortable lifting force.
"Chimpanzee" John Harris
Starting with a scrap piece of Mahogany, John Harris prior owner of Chimpanzee made this modification to effect a fore and aft pull to operate the centerboard.
