The CB pin was kept in with silicone sealer on each side.  To remove the pin John dug out the silicone and then drove the pin out with a drift punch and small hammer.  The CB was then carefully lifted out of the trunk for repairs.  During the reassemble process,  John used epoxy to secure the pin and with a small amount of extra work, faired the keel.  John said the CB was dinged from many groundings.  To fix,  John ground them out.  Cleaned the area and filled each nick with a mixture of epoxy and microballoons.  After the material was set  John faired and reinstalled the keel.

A tip from Jerry Montgomery:   The line used to raise and lower the CB is 5/16... The trick is to cut away about 4" of the internal core and use that part to tie off at the CenterBoard,   making the knot small enough to fit properly in the CB Trunk.  Getting the board out is the easy part.  Reinstalling and aligning the repaired board may be difficult.  Allow plenty of time,  dont rush and be careful.
