1982 Montgomery 15 - Hull #184
"Storm Petrel"
Home
William Riker and Storm Petrel have been contributors to the MSOG for some time. The photo on the far left is from around May of 2001.  The shape of the sails,  the bow wave and the wind on the water,  all make sailing shots my favorite.  On the far right is a photo taken in 2002 by Tod Mills providing proof that a displacement hull can plane.

The Petrel is one of a large group of ocean birds.  Storm Petrels are the smallest and use their feet as paddles,  just under the surface as they glide above.  Seemingly walking on water.   Flattering name for an M-15
