Vanilla was purchased by Gary Hyde in the fall of 1999 and sold in the spring of 2006.  Gary and Vanilla have participated in several of the Northwest cruises.  You'll see other pictures of this craft and Gary in other albums on this site.  The prior owner fashioned an arch over the sliding hatch area.  Gary uses the arch for pad eyes and cleats for the jib halyard,  jib downhaul,  and the spinnaker pole lift and hold down lines.  You can also see the rain fly and Bimini Top so useful in the Northwest.  Especially in the early spring when there are lots of showers and small storms.

Gary has been sailing for over 30 years.  Beginning with a lightweight Grumman  Aluminum  Canoe with a  Gunter Sail Rig.
