We in Arizona are blessed with the possibility of year round sailing. However, the intensity of the sun is often a force to be dealt with for health and safety sake. When at anchor, the "Arizona Room" sun screen certainly helps.
"I have used components from my previous boat, a MacGregor 26, to make the enclosure. It was nearly a perfect fit with exception of the back panel which will need cut outs for the tiller and motor well. On the right is another project for another day. The previous owner decided the mainsheet traveler was better in it's current location. The new position allows for great sail shape and control, but it is not user friendly for lounging, cruising and entering the cabin. I'll be moving it back to the original location when time permits.
Also notice the new sheet bags I made and placed on either side of the companionway. These are made from left over nylon screen material from the new enclosure side curtains, this allows the sheets to drain and dry.
There is a side note to my projects; I lost my rights to the wife's sewing machine when I tried to sew through to many layers of Sunbrella. I have since invested in my own sewing machine to do more canvas projects."
