Halcyon is likely the first Fiberglass Center Board M-17 made which added to her appeal. She came with a Yahama 2-Stroke 4hp outboard which performs excellent and I tow her with a Toyota Tundra. Since I brought her home I've done the following: I added the Garhauer stainless steel adjustable motor mount and I installed the Windline 4-Step ladder. The ladder is standard on the Potter 19 and available only through International Marine. I got the idea from Judy Blumhorst's Web Site (excellent site!) I also added the Schaefer Genoa Track. It was loads of fun trying to bend a straight piece of steel onto a curved Teak toe rail but with tips from Bob Eeg and help from my aircraft mechanic brother and a complete set of clamps from Costco we did a bang up job.
I added the electrical system which includes many Blue Seas components. New panel, battery selector switch, AGM Battery, LED cabin lights, electric bilge pump, running lights at deck level, masthead tri-color light, Permanently mounted VHF Radio and various helpful 12v outlets. In addition I also added the Simrad auto pilot with a neat modification to to make it quick disconnect from the tiller. In 2005 I added new MACK sails: Main with two reef points with a full batten across the top and a 150 Genoa on a new Schaefer Snap Furler.
I dry sail Halcyon (mast up) and to make launching relatively easy I added a trailer tongue extension to keep the Tundra out of the water. Most of my cruising is day sails however, I do occasionally make an overnight excursion to the Florida Keys - And yes, I love my Montgomery!"
