There have been a few on the MSOG who have traveled farther. But, Sean Mulligan did 5200 miles in five days to go to Bokeelia, Florida and back to Lake Havasu City in Arizona. Prior to the trip Sean had a new Pacific Trailer made to fit an M23 and fortunately it was nearly perfect.
"The expedition began by picking up Scott, my best sailing bud in Phoenix, Scott is on the right in all the photos. Driving nonstop and 48 hours later we were taking possession of our (mine and my wife's Mary Jo)
M23. Scott outdrove me by far, both there and back. He was the ironman of the journey. We saw the devastation from the last Hurricane in the South, fog in Alabama and lots of weird smells in Texas (no offense). We visited with a couple of friends along the way, ate lots of sandwiches, chips, drinks, read sailing magazines, laughed and had some in depth talks about who knows what and we stopped at nearly every gas station along the way, especially on the way back. The Chevy Tahoe was our home for the week. It performed perfectly. Tows the M23 easily and made us as comfortable as possible.
Now that our M23 is in our driveway, the real work begins. You will see other albums of our M23 as she goes through her transformation.
