There were five boats on the cruise; Thomas Howe and Kate Dinneen with "Sea Smoke"  a Pearson Ariel, Tod Mills in "Busca Brisas" an M17 (album), Rick Langer with his M15 "Bluebird" (album), Abbey Gura in his M15 (album)  and Doug Kelch aboard his M15 "Seas the Day" (album on this site). The Montgomery Boats launched from Rockland, Maine (in the rain and fog) and anchored out or were on moorings the entire trip.  The cruise included stops at; Carver Cove, McGlathery Island, Frenchboro (Long Island), Southwest Harbor, Buckle Harbor, Benjamin River, Bucks Harbor, Pickering Island, Seal Bay on Vianlhaven Island and Perry Creek.  The cruise was filled with all of the traditional Maine offerings; Fog, rain, lots of sun, 10 foot tides, reliable afternoon sea breezes, great Lobster, secluded anchorages and lots of Islands to do nature walks around.
Introductions: Left to right - -  Photo 1 in the gazebo are Tod, Rick and Doug. Photo 2 in the Pearson are Thomas, Abbey and Kate. Then Doug Kelch then Tod, Doug and Lobster. Far right is Tod & Doug with Abbey in the background.  Below left are Rick, Tod behind him Doug to the right and Kate Dinneen in the back. That's Abbey in the cabin of his M15, trying to stay dry. On the nature walk are Abby, Thomas and Doug, the Abby.  The Pearson Ariel had other scheduled ports to visit and left the fleet after the first week. With exception of a couple of side trips the Montys pretty much stayed together.

Hinckley Boats. Sought after by the rich and famous.  Doug mentions that they will pay a premium for a Montgomery taken in on trade on a new Hinckley. They know what are boats are worth.  Center photo; Tod found a perfectly still early morning fog to get a surrealistic shot of Doug's Bolger Light Dory. On the right is the WoodenBoat School /  Wooden Boat Magazine home office is close by.
