Overview/History

John Lubliner, prior owner of Coyote - M17 Flushdeck : "I've been a member of the Tucson Sailing Club since the early 70's and have all of the old directories and some of the history of these boats. Walkabout was sold in Tucson by the Ship's Store, a sailboat shop whose owner, Tom Van Atta, was a good friend of Jerry Montgomery. In 1979, M23 #2 was owned by a guy named Ed Avery. Ed lived in Yuma, AZ and called this boat "Star Thrower". I believe Ed was the first owner.

Dennis Chapman took over Walkabout's helm in the summer of 2000. Prior to that she was owned by Nick Honodel who sailed the Chesapeake. Nick purchased her from Tom Janstrom while she was in Idaho and named "Villand" (wild Duck in Norwegian). Tom bought her from the Ship's Store in Tuscon back in 1988 when she was named "El Pato" (the Duck in Spanish).
