Sailing, Canoeing, Car Camping and more with a convenient carry along Galley

These photos were published in Small Craft Advisor Magazine, look for issue number 33 May / June 2005. The photos show a complete galley with all of the trimmings.

The silverware is kept in heavy duty plastic pouches making them easier to locate without taking the box apart.

The original design concept for the Tool Box Galley was from Charlie Matthew. Charlie's Galley had a hole cut into a wood cutting board to act as support for a standard, throwaway 16.4 oz propane bottle. To the top of the propane bottle is fitted a small one burner stove used for cooking. In Charlies version, the stove and bottle are stored inside the Tool Box.

Connie Prefers to cook on a self contained, compact type of stove with the propane bottle on the side. No hook-ups required and starts with the push of a button. With this style, there is no need to keep them in the Tool Box and take up space. This Tool Box Galley started out life as a 19" K-Mart Tool Box with the inner take out tray removed. Most of the gear came from local bargain stores and thrift shops and the total estimated investment is under $30.00.
